It’s been 38 years since the show premiered, and 27 years ago the cast said goodbye in the series finale. For many of the cast cheers was just the beginning of her career. See how the cast has changed and what they’re up to after almost 40 years.

Ted Danson

Shelley left the show after season 5 in 1987 but returned for the series finale in 1993. She also reprized her role in the cheers spin off, Frasier. after she left cheersShelley has acted in a number of notable films such as Troupe Beverly Hills, The Brady Bund Movie, A very Brady sequel, and dr T & the women. She continued playing DeDe Pritchett modern family for multiple episodes. She recently voiced the role of Grandma Murphy on the TV series Milo Murphy’s law.

Woody Harrelson

Woody Harrelson played bartender Woody Boyd beginning in season 4. He won an Emmy for his role on the show. Woody has grown into a very accomplished actor. He was nominated for 3 Oscars for his role in The people against Larry Flynt, The messengerand Three billboards outside of Ebbing, Missouri. He played next to it Matthew McConaughey in the critically acclaimed first season of True detective. His latest films include Midway and Zombieland: Double tap. He also played Joe Biden for three episodes of Saturday night live in 2019. He will star in the upcoming poison Consequence.

Rhea Perlman

Rhea Perlman played the waitress Carla Tortelli for all 275 episodes of cheers. She won 4 Emmys for her portrayal of Carla. To cheersshe went on to act in films like Mathilde, Canadian baconand poms. She reunited with her cheers co-star Kirstie Alley on the sitcom Kirstie in 2013. She also continued playing Annette Castellano The Mindy Project. Her last roles were on The Goldbergs and Harley Quinn.

Kirstie Alley joined the cast of cheers 1987 as Rebecca Howe. She won an Emmy and a Golden Globe for her performance. in the middle of her run cheersShe starred in the hit film Look who’s talking and its two sequels. The actress also starred It takes two, Deconstruct Harry, and more. She went on to star in the sitcom Veronica’s closet for 3 seasons. He won 4 Emmys for his role in Frasier. In addition to playing Frasier, Kelsey is known for taking on the role of Sideshow Bob The simpsons and continues playing Mayor Tom Kane boss. When it comes to film, Kelsey notably played Dr. McCoy / Beast in X Men: The Last Stand. He is also an accomplished stage actor. He recently had a guest appearance on an episode of Carol’s second act and in the movie money plane.
