Kelly Clarkson had a mother-daughter night out with her 8-year-old River Rose Blackstock at the People’s Choice Awards on December 6th. As the host of The Kelly Clarkson Show, she accepted the award for best daytime talk show of 2022. She gave River a sweet shout-out, adding that she misses her 6-year-old son, Remington Alexander Blackstock.
“I have a date night with my daughter,” she said after thanking her fans for voting for the show. “And Remi, I know you’re home, you’re not feeling well, but we love you. In response, River said “I love you” to her mother during Clarkson’s speech. Amidst Shania Twain’s epic performance medley earlier in the night, the adorable couple were also seen dancing to the music. Clarkson wore a bright red ruffled dress while River looked adorable in a sequined rainbow dress and carried a tiny Gucci purse.
The three-time Grammy winner shares River and Remington with her ex-husband Brandon Blackstock, whom she married in 2013. River was born in 2014 while Remington arrived in 2016. Clarkson filed for divorce from her husband of almost seven years in June 2020, citing irreconcilable differences, though the two continue to co-parent their children.
