Amy Robachs 20/20 Co-host David Muir “doesn’t want any part” in the drama surrounding her alleged affair with GMA3 Co-host TJ Holmes. Robach, who joined Muir on the investigative news show in 2018, has been the center of much tabloid gossip since news of her alleged relationship with Holmes first broke late last month.
Now sources say page six that Robach “fought so hard to become a co-anchor” and “she’s a serious tough news journalist,” but sadly her work is being overshadowed — and Muir, 20/20 Host since 2013, “didn’t have it”.
A source told the outlet that Muir is uninterested in the controversy surrounding Robach’s alleged affair, explaining, “He’s the face of the evening news and nothing about him ever makes the papers. It’s very private and nobody at ABC likes the way Amy and TJ handled it.”
And he’s not the only one. The outlet also reports that “every presenter is upset that Amy and TJ caused such drama” and “no one wants to be associated with the scandal.”
This was announced by a spokesman for ABC News page six“David is focused on work, not all of that.”
When approached by Decider for comment, ABC officials didn’t immediately respond.
Last week, both Robin Roberts – currently GMA anchor – and Gayle King – a former GMA Correspondent and current CBS anchor – shared their thoughts on the news from Holmes and Robach.
Roberts is reportedly “angry” about the situation, which she described as “messy” and said it “pollutes the brand,” per The Daily Mail. She claims to have told Holmes and Robach to “get off” in the early days of their affair.
King’s comments have been submitted Watch What Happens Lives with Andy Cohen, during which she called the situation “very messy and very sloppy,” telling Cohen, “The more you read the messier it gets and I think it’s just a sad situation because you’ve got kids involved.” You have families involved. I keep thinking about that. Yes, that worries me a lot.”
Holmes and Robach were both dragged indefinitely from the air afterwards The Daily Mail revealed their alleged affair on November 30. That day, the couple deleted their social media accounts and Robach was absent from the show’s broadcast; The next day, however, both hosts resumed their duties as co-anchors. page six reports that Holmes made an unfavorable comment on their return, saying he had had a “great week”, which reportedly upset “people on the network”.
Ahead of the following December 5 broadcast, ABC News president Kim Godwin called the situation an “internal and external distraction” while on the phone with executives, first reported by TMZ. Godwin reportedly said, “I want to say that while this relationship is not a violation of company policy, it has really taken me the last few days to think and work through what I believe is best for the ABC News organization.”
The network has not published any further action plan.
