Now the 25-year-old singer, who already has five Grammys, will once again prove her singing talent Beauty and the Beast: A 30th Celebration. HER stars as Belle in the ABC special, which airs December 15 Josh Groban as The Beast. The cast will come together to celebrate the iconic Disney film that came out over 30 years ago.

1. HER’s real name is Gabi Wilson.
She is an American singer-songwriter from California who signed to RCA Records under Sony at the age of 14. HER burst onto the R&B scene in September 2016 with their debut EP. YOU volume 1, who caused quite a stir due to her amazing voice and mysterious personality (see #2). HER released the follow-up “second half” of their EP, HER Vol 2 to rave reviews in June 2017. The 8-song compilation album won Best R&B Album and received four other nominations at the 2019 Grammy Awards, including Album of the Year and Best New Artist. HER received five more Grammy nominations at the 2020 awards ceremony.
2. Early in her career, SHE preferred to keep her identity a secret.
When RCA Records sent out early streams of their debut EP, HER Vol 1 In 2016, the label said they “couldn’t say [people] much about YOU,” it said in a one-line press release at the time. The latter caused confusion among fans and critics, who could not understand why RCA would support an artist without a bio. But there was a method to the madness.
“The mystery is a metaphor for who I am or who I was at the time the project was created,” HER said Los Angeles Times in her first interview about volume 1 “I feel like as humans, we often don’t like to be open about our emotions or things that we’re going through,” she continued, recalling, “back then [of recording]I was very closed off except when I was writing or in the studio.”
3. HER actually stands for something that might surprise you.
While her name isn’t easy for Google, there’s a reason she adopted the nickname “HER.” It’s actually an honest acronym for “Having Everything Revealed”. Wait, a person named “Having Everything Revealed” wanted to keep their identity a secret? “It’s kind of ironic, isn’t it?” she said along the way LA times Interview.
4. Some music legends are big fans of HER
When volume 1 fell, some big music stars immediately fell in love with HER’s voice. Alicia Keys absolutely raved about it online, as well as Wyclef Jean and Bryson Tiller. Interestingly, HER joined Bryson on his “Set It Off” tour in August 2017. Other artists and celebs who have shown their love include, among others rihanna, Taraji P Henson and kendall and KylieJenner. Add to Adele on the list, especially after having this reaction to HER joining SNL as a musical guest, as she hosted: “I’m thrilled that SHE will be the musical guest!! I love her so much I can’t wait to melt into a red hot mess when she performs,” Adele wrote on Instagram at the time.
5. HER participated in Radio Disney’s Next Big Thing in 2009.
