They say, “It’s the thought that counts,” but if someone doesn’t think much about a gift from the White Elephant, they do Yes, really? Some might treat themselves to a bottle of quality tequila or a sought-after beauty palette. Others might be browsing a dollar store’s discount store and have spare change for a piece of gum. Others might hit a pet store with a going-out-of-business offer. “The weirdest gift I ever got on vacation was… a goldfish.” Toni Talks told HollywoodLife when discussing the pros and cons of gifting as part of launching Hornitos’ Green Elephant Shop.
“At that point, I had never owned a pet, so the excitement of unwrapping my gift ended in panic!” says the comedian, who serves as the Green Elephant Store’s virtual “shopkeeper.” HL. “I’ve received a lot of weird/kinda funny gifts in my time (never dirty socks [laughs]) which is why I really understood this campaign with hornitos and thought it was so magical – because who wouldn’t like the opportunity to exchange a crappy gift for some money! Honestly, anyone can relate to it!”
With TonyTalks at the helm of the store, the Hornitos Green Elephant Shop will be opening Monday 26th December to Friday 30th December (think of it as a virtual pop-up). People as young as 21 can drop by to send photos of their lackluster white elephant gifts for a chance at $25 (in the form of an e-gift card) that allows them to buy something they really want — like a nice bottle of hornitos .
Speaking of which, if Tony were to fill in for Santa, he wouldn’t go that far in giving someone a much-needed bottle of Hornitos. “If anyone deserves the gift of Hornito’s tequila, it’s my mom,” he says HL. “She deserves the best White Elephant gift as she knows how to keep the spirit of the holiday season alive and deserves to celebrate that spirit all year long!
