Keke Palmer is pregnant, and the news has inspired people to share their experiences with PCOS and infertility as a result of PCOS on Twitter.
Palmer announced her pregnancy during hosting Saturday night live on December 3rd. “There are some rumors going around,” she said during her monologue. “People have been saying in my comments, ‘Keke is having a baby, Keke is pregnant.’ And I want to set the record straight — I am!” She then opened up her oversized coat to reveal her pregnant belly.
In 2020, Palmer announced via social media that she has PCOS, or PCO syndrome. PCOS is a hormonal disorder This can cause symptoms like irregular periods, acne, painful periods, excessive hair growth, and fluctuating weight, according to the Mayo Clinic. People with PCOS are too more likely have anxiety or depression. Palmer said PCOS “attacked me from the inside out my entire life.” Another common problem that people with PCOS face is infertility or difficulty conceiving. Not everyone with PCOS has all of the symptoms, however.
In her Instagram post about her symptoms, Palmer mentioned her battle with acne due to PCOS. “The least harmful thing PCOS can bring is acne,” she wrote. “To all the people who are struggling with this, please know that you are not alone and that you are still doing so damn fine! MY ACNE NEVER STOPS ME. But we don’t have to accept that. Now I can really help KEKE! And I love her, so it’s ON.”
In light of Palmer’s diagnosis, fans expressed their support for her pregnancy and shared her personal struggles with PCOS and fertility. As a result, PCOS became a trending topic on Twitter.
