Patrick Mahomes27, revealed that his younger brother, Jackson MahomesThe 22-year-old came up with “Bronze” for his and the nickname Brittany Mahomes‘ newborn son Patrick Lavon Mahomes III. “My brother Jackson would say, whenever we were trying to find something unique and different, ‘What about bronze? It fits perfectly with sterling,’ ” the QB of the Kansas City Chiefs told reporters on November 30, two days after the birth of his son. “So that’s what we decided to do,” Patrick added.
Patrick, who shares 20-month-old daughter Sterling with 27-year-old Brittany, explained why his son’s nickname “works well”. “He can have his own thing now that he’s not Patrick, he’s Bronze even though he’s Patrick,” the father-of-two said. “And Sterling and Bronze can continue to push that connection.”
The NFL star also shared his feelings about welcoming another child into his family. “It’s obviously cool,” he told the press. “It’s great to bring a son into my family. Everything went great and everything went smoothly – and Brittany is a champion. So it was really cool.”
Patrick and Brittany announced their son was born with one Instagram post which featured a waist-down photo of her little boy. Bronze was dressed in a cozy pair of brown and white newborn pajamas and placed on a fluffy brown blanket with “Mahomes” printed in the pattern. The couple’s fans congratulated them on the birth of their son and even joked that Baby Bronze already looks like a future NFL superstar.
There was speculation that Brittany gave birth to a child after one of her husband’s soccer games. The birth was rumored to be imminent after the Kansas City Chiefs game against the LA Chargers on Sunday, November 27th. However, she took to social media to push back. “Sorry guys, I’m here,” Brittany wrote via Twitter, alongside a picture of her daughter Sterling. “Been busy. I’m not in labor, you’re all tripping.”
Patrick and Brittany welcomed their daughter in February 2021. The following year, they hosted a beautiful Hawaiian wedding reception where they officially became husband and wife.
