Megan Thee Stallion Testifies at Tory Lanez Shooting Trial – Hollywood Life +2023

Two years later Tory Lanez allegedly shot Megan Thee Stallion After the two got into a fight, Megan, 27, had her day in court. Megan testified Tuesday (December 13) in a Los Angeles courtroom at the alleged shooting trial. While taking the witness stand, Megan said, “I wish he would have just killed me if I knew I was going through this,” per TMZ. The hitmaker was also reportedly in tears during her testimony.

The star, who wore a purple pantsuit in court, also told the court she wasn’t feeling well when she took the witness stand. “I just don’t feel good,” Megan said loudly Rolling Stone. “I can’t believe I have to come up here and do this.” During the opening statement, prosecutors stated that the alleged gunshots left “three bullet fragments in Megan’s feet.” Buzzfeed News. They also claimed that Meg and Tory’s falling out began when “Megan criticized his musical ability.”

Additionally, Megan returned to the stands after a hiatus and was reportedly “more emotional” during her statements. The day before Megan testified, Megan’s supporters gathered outside the courtroom to show their solidarity with the “Savage” rapper. The Gathering for Justice has partnered with women’s advocacy groups and violence prevention organizations including Southern Black Girls and Women’s Consortium, 2nd Call, Homies Unidos, Take Charge, Inc., COMMUNITYx, Inc. and TimeDon, per abc news.

“As an organization that values ​​dignity, justice and liberation, we gather – along with many organizations – [Tuesday] to show our solidarity with Meg and support her with our love,” Carmen Perez-Jordan, President and CEO of The Gathering for Justice, said in a statement to ABC News. “We are committed to spreading the message that violence is not a solution. We know now is the time to speak up for victims of violence, especially violence against black women.”

Tory was under house arrest ahead of the trial. He was originally charged in October 2020 with assault with a semi-automatic firearm (personal use of a firearm) and carrying a loaded, unregistered firearm in a vehicle. In the week leading up to the 2022 trial, Tory was charged with another felony, recklessly disposing of a firearm. He pleaded not guilty to all three counts.

The alleged incident occurred on July 12, 2020. Tory (b. Daystar Peterson), Megan (b. While she said Tory and she never had a romantic relationship, Megan said they bonded over the loss of their mothers to each other. “I thought he knew me. And I never thought he would have shot me at all. I never touched this man. I never did anything to him. There was an argument. People fight every day. Friends fight every day.” When asked what Megan was hoping for in this process, she shared Rolling Stone, “I want him to go to jail. I want him to go to jail.”

At the end of Megan’s testimony, Tory was seen leaving the courtroom with his son on his back, per Rolling Stone. “It’s my support system and I’m his, too,” he said with a smile for the cameras. His son, who is not involved in the trial, was also in the courtroom during some of the testimony, the outlet reported.
