The royal family has pretty strict beauty rules that extend down to the color of nail polish they can wear, but Kate Middleton seems to be taking some risks with her look lately. On December 2, the Prince and Princess of Wales attended the second annual Earthshot Awards ceremony in Boston, and there was something different about Middleton.
Dressed in a lime green dress by Solace London and an emerald and diamond choker (that once belonged to Princess Diana), Middleton stood out on the green carpet at the Environmental Protection Banquet. Her hair and makeup followed suit. Instead of her trademark blowout with a medium or slightly off-center parting, Middleton’s hair was parted deeply to one side with dramatic, voluminous curls, adding a touch of Old Hollywood glamor to her look. Her makeup consisted of a smoky eye in soft brown (something the king is rarely seen in), coral blush, and a complementary pink lip. This is quite a departure from the minimalist makeup she opts for.
While this may not be groundbreaking to most, Middleton rarely strays from the signature look she’s been known for since marrying Prince William in 2011. It’s fun to see her experimenting with a slightly bolder look. Take a look ahead.
