The Golden Globes are making their big return to television after a spate of controversy led to a private ceremony last year. With nominations coming up for the 2023 event, we’ve updated you on how to stay up to date.
Earlier this week, it was announced that comedian Jerrod Carmichael would take the stage as this year’s presenter – just a few months after five-time presenter Ricky Gervais said “fuck it” to a fan who suggested they return to the awards show.
Last year, NBC dropped the Golden Globes and opted for a private event after allegations racism and sexual harassment plagued the Hollywood Foreign Press Association, the organization behind the awards show. However, they are now returning under a one-year agreement “that will allow the HFPA and DCP to explore new opportunities for national and global distribution across a variety of platforms in the future,” per diversity.
This year’s nominations are presented by George Lopez and his daughter Mayan Lopez, who both star in the new sitcom Lopez versus Lopez. Here’s everything we know about how to watch it:
HOW TO VIEW THE GOLDEN GLOBES NOMINATIONS:
It won’t be long before you can find out if your favorite shows and movies have been nominated for a Golden Globe! The nominees for this year’s awards ceremony, to be announced on Monday 12 December, will be announced live The Today Show from 8:35 a.m. ET/5:35 p.m. PT on NBC.
The Golden Globes will also announce the nominees live via their social media accounts and will post a full list of the 2023 nominees on their website, GoldenGlobes.com.
WHEN ARE THE GOLDEN GLOBES?
The Golden Globes will take place on January 10, 2023 at 8pm ET/5pm PT. Those with cable can catch the live broadcast, which will be happening on NBC. For those who have officially cut the cord or just prefer to stream, you can watch the awards show live peacock.
