Beauty trends that we learn directly from the catwalk
New York, Milan, London or Paris: The fashion shows for autumn and winter 2023/2024 in the fashion capitals showed what we are wearing. And not just in fashion… We’ve spotted a few trends in make-up and styling that we don’t want to withhold from you.
Admittedly, things are usually extravagant on the runway. Opulent cuts meet looks that at first glance you might not wear in everyday life. But sometimes you just have to think outside the box and instead of applying the blush generously, just reduce the amount a little and you have a super trendy everyday look. The principle is simple and gives our beauty routine a new shine. This is how the big, present catwalk trends become beautiful little highlights for everyday life in no time. We show what caught our eye at the fashion weeks in New York, Milan, London and Paris.
Subtle grunge: Christian Dior
Loads of mascara, false lashes and liner. So really a lot of black liner. Since the “Wednesday” success on Netflix, the neo-goth theme has dominated fashionable minds. And also at Christian Dior you can see dominant grunge eyes on the catwalk in Paris. The variations are endless: whether prominent lines in the inner corner of the eye or on the outside. The motto is: more is more. And there is no such thing as too little drama – even in everyday life. If you still prefer to shift down a gear, a little Kohlkajal inside the waterline is a good idea.
Draped Blush: Giorgio Armani
Statement colors like pink or rosé make the blush finish on the Girogio Armani catwalk perfect. Instead of spreading the rouge on the cheeks, the trend is again towards draping, i.e. the rouge is applied to the temples and slightly blended towards the eyes. If the signature look is too daring for you, you are well advised to tap your brush on the back of your hand before applying. So just a hint of the product sparkles on the temples.
Bleached brows and silver accents: off-white
Admittedly, both are perhaps a bit extreme. But individually, the trends won our hearts immediately. Silver glitter effects are brought back to life on the catwalk in Paris. A liquid liner makes geometric shapes and classic eyeliner look perfect. If you like, you can also put the wow accents in your eyebrows. Here it helps to create a light base with a concealer: This way the metal sparkles even more beautifully. Speaking of concealer: If you don’t want to permanently lighten your brows, you can try the catwalk trend with a concealer. Dab the product over your hair with your fingers and you’re done.
Hollywood Waves: Richard Quinn
The retro look from the 1940s is making a comeback. The noble water wave is reminiscent of big movie stars like Veronica Lake and Rita Hayworth. But stars like Lana Del Rey or Jessica Chastain also show off the look on red carpets. Is it any wonder that Richard Quinn gives his models in London this unusual hairstyle? Whether for a wedding, in the club or for a gala evening: the water wave now replaces large curls.
Celestial Makeup: Thom Browne
In New York we see sparkling highlights like from the starry sky: Thom Browne shows us how. His models just shine with golden sophistication and invite you to dream with their stars and playful elements. The inhibition threshold to paint a star in the middle of the face is high, but gold tones, glitter and stones on the eyelid are based on this open-hearted look and are less offensive. A small star on the outer corner of the eye has probably never hurt anyone and definitely makes the wearer an eye-catcher on the party night.
Vamp vibes: Vivienne Westwood
With Vivienne Westwood, the femme fatale in Paris is taken to an even more seductive level: Dark, blood-red lips sparkle almost brownish, even metallic. We create the sexy siren look with a lip liner that is darker than the selected lipstick. With a metallic golden pigment as a topper, the finish gets its sensual and attractive shine.
Glossy Slicked Hair: Tory Burch
Hair laid to the side and gathered in a ponytail: the blogger trend is now also reaching the Tory Burch catwalk. The hair, fixed with gel, has a glamorous touch due to its severity and emphasizes the contours of the face. The elegant twist can be loosened up with loose hair: this gives cool looks a relaxed finish.
Wing, Kajal and Bold Lips: Dolce & Gabbana
All good things come in threes, which is why this beauty combination only comes in threes. In Milan, Dolce & Gabbana not only inspires with the classic wing, but also with a matching white liner on the waterline. Clever, because the wing not only lifts the eye, but the light liner also enlarges. Sensual lips in red complete the glamorous look.
Pastel Lashes Prada
At Prada, top model Gigi Hadid wears pink false eyelashes! The pastel-colored cotton dream makes the rosy complexion of the model shine even more thanks to the graceful color. So how do we wear the unconventional look in everyday life? The secret lies in the mascara primer: it prepares our lashes in such a way that the delicate pink nuances come into their own more intensively.
