Billie Eilish is the reigning Queen of Pop and most will agree. If you somehow didn’t become part of the fandom with Ocean Eyes, then there was Bad Guy. Their tracks not only make it to the top of the charts in a very short time, but are also very popular worldwide. The fact that a kpop idol is one of her biggest fans is also one of Eilish’s biggest cards, but at the end of the day, it’s her voice and talent that has earned her 11 Grammys.
Billie Eilish recently revealed in an interview that Lana Del Rey’s “Off to the Races” is one of her favorite songs:
“This song is amazing. It’s like the best thing I’ve ever heard.” pic.twitter.com/Tsi5wfHKtu— Lana Del Rey Info (@LDReyInfo) January 26, 2020
Eilish is another member of the female artists in the music community that has made us proud. But even in 2022, the fact that music is different for all of us and that female musicians don’t need to be compared is still a hard pill to swallow for some. Especially in the case of Billie Eilish. While the singer has been compared to many artists, her comparisons to Lana Del Rey are the most debated.
Billie Eilish opened up about being compared to Lana Del Rey
There’s more than one reason why Billie Eilish shouldn’t be compared to Lana Del Rey. One of them is the obvious fact that they are two people with separate journeys. And second, their music isn’t even similar. While Eilish enjoys producing pop tunes, Lana Del Rey is a genius at crafting melodic tones. Additionally, the fact that both have spawned a common aesthetic is a point of similarity.

Aside from being hugely popular and bagging numerous awards, the singers don’t have much in common. That’s why Eilish spoke out about the comparisons in 2019 and put an end to it once and for all. Speak with yeah Taysom, the Bad Guy singer, said: “I don’t want to hear that Billie Eilish is the new Lana Del Rey. Don’t disrespect Lana like that!”
“We grew up listening to a lot of The Beatles and Lana Del Rey was a big hit for us.”

The Grammy winner added that a few years later when another artist is trying to make a name for themselves, she doesn’t want them to be compared to her. Not only because it would discourage the artist, but it would also make her feel like she was being replaced. Her feelings were reciprocated by Lana Del Rey, who also admires Eilish and her craft.
