One of the most popular stars of the small and big screen, Kirstie AlleyShe died on December 5, leaving many wondering about her life behind the camera. Kirstie, who died aged 71, had an extremely high-profile career, from her breakout role as the seductive Rebecca Howe opposite Ted Danson on cheersto film roles, including the ones opposite John Travolta in Look who’s talking.

And while her time in Hollywood was the stuff that icons are made of, she’s certainly had her fair share of ups and downs in her personal life. Here’s everything you need to know about her two main romantic relationships, one of which dates back to high school.

Kirstie married a fellow actor Parker Stevensonnow 70, on December 22, 1983. Although the marriage ended in 1997, the couple welcomed two children by adoption, lily28 and William [who goes by True,] 30, with the Sturdy boys Stern after a reported miscarriage. In 2016, the former couple became grandparents when William gave birth to his own son. The marriage was reportedly troubled, and in 2012 the gorgeous actress even opened up about feelings she had for people outside of marriage.

Per The Hollywood Reporterwhile promoting her book The art of men (I prefer mine al dente), She admitted her “greatest love” was movie co-star John Travolta, although she kept it because of her marriage. “Believe me, I needed everything I had, inside, outside, whatever, to not run away and marry John — and be with John for the rest of my life,” she said, per The Huffington Post back then.

That Mercilessly beautiful Star also admitted to falling in love with the deceased Patrick Swayzewith whom she played north and south – although she said there was no affair. “We didn’t have an affair,” she said. “But again, I think what I did was worse. Because I think if you fall in love with someone while you’re married, you’re jeopardizing your own marriage and theirs. It’s doubly bad.”

Parker once recalled being opposites with Jenny Craig’s spokeswoman. “Kirstie and I are polar opposites,” he said persons 1999. “That’s what made it so interesting, [but being opposites] doesn’t make a good marriage.” He also reflected on the “ugly process” of divorce and whether they would be friends again. “Will we be friends one day? I do not know.”

It was Kirstie’s two children from her marriage to Parker who announced her death on December 5, 2022. “She was surrounded by her closest family and fought with great vigour, leaving us with the assurance of her never-ending zest for life and all adventures lie ahead,” they wrote in part in an official social media statement. “As iconic as she was on screen, she was an even more amazing mother and grandmother.”

Bob Alley

Bob Alley was close to Kirstie in more ways than one. The former couple reportedly met and fell in love in high school, and Bob already shared Kristie’s maiden name, Alley. Additionally, very little is known about their marriage (and photos are virtually impossible to find), though Kirstie has admitted to having an affair of sorts, per The Hollywood Reporter in 2012, identifying the male given the first name “Jake”. She also revealed that this ended her first marriage.

“I didn’t have sex, but I think it was worse when you’re falling in love with someone else, when you’re with someone and making plans and planning,” she said at the time. “What I did to Jake was I kissed him. And in my world, in the Kirstie world, that meant I had to get a divorce. … It took a long time [to forgive myself] Because I was a terrible person, I destroyed my marriage.”
