5 Netflix Shows That Deserved More Than One Season (2022) +2023

Now that we’ve reached the end of the year, we can’t help but think of all the Netflix shows that got canceled in 2022. More specifically, the Netflix shows that premiered just this year. Unfortunately, the streamer wasted no time in scrapping its new shows, and while some didn’t interest us all that much, we would have liked to see more seasons of others.

This year we saw the cancellations of shows like A different life, Gentified, The Babysitters Club, space forces, raise Dion, Destiny: The Winx Saga, The imperfections, The Midnight Club and many others.

But there are some canceled Netflix shows that we just deny won’t return. These shows deserve another chance because we truly believe they haven’t had the chance to build a big enough audience, improve on certain aspects and show everything they can. I mean, these days it’s hard for new shows to take off unless the cast is full of well-known actors. And sometimes that’s not enough.

We understand that this is a business move. Netflix needs to protect itself and make sure it doesn’t keep producing new seasons of shows if it doesn’t end up benefiting them. However, we hate that some of the Netflix shows we loved watching didn’t make it this year.

Netflix shows that deserved more than one season

The first show, which I’m about to list, is very close to my heart. I was absolutely devastated when Netflix announced its cancellation. It’s the vampire teen series first kill.

first kill

I don’t think I’ll ever get over it first kill‘s cancellation. This teen series deserves better and I will never stop saying that. To be honest, I was shocked at how affected I was first kill. I figured it would be another show I would watch and then forget. Boy was I wrong!

I was hooked from the first episode. After that, I sped through the rest of the season in one sitting, and my first thought after the end was, “I want more.” I had to see how Calliope and Juliette’s love story would continue in a second season. How would Theo cope with his new skills? What would happen to the rest of the Burns and the Fairmonts? It’s just not fair that we’ll never know how the story continues.

But despite the cancellation, it remains one of my favorite series. And it’s definitely going to be a show I watch every now and then. So if you haven’t seen this fantastic show I say give it a try!

Netflix Shows - Pretty Smart Season 2

Pretty smart

For some odd reason, sitcoms don’t do well on Netflix, and it sucks. Pretty smart starred Emily Osment as a proud Harvard-educated intellectual who is forced to move in with her feisty, carefree younger sister and three roommates after her boyfriend dumped her.

I found the show very entertaining and funny. While predictable at times, this is expected of a comedy sitcom. It was also lighthearted and easy to see. So I’m sad that we won’t see another season in the future.

But his cancellation was by no means surprising. When the show premiered, it did manage to make Netflix’s top 10 TV list, but only for a short time, and its highest ranking was eighth place. That means people didn’t actually tune in to see it. Also, as mentioned earlier, Netflix sitcoms are rarely renewed for additional seasons. Normally a Netflix sitcom gets one season and that’s it. There aren’t many exceptions. Finally, it took Netflix over six months to make a decision on the fate of the series. It usually doesn’t take that long for a Netflix show to renew.

Netflix Shows - Partner Track Cast

partner track

I honestly thought partner track had a better chance of being renewed by Netflix. I mean, teenage wolf‘s Arden Cho starred and the plot seemed interesting enough for people to tune in. However, I think I was wrong because when I watched it viewershipnot many people watched the legal drama series, which ultimately led to its cancellation.

Although I’m disappointed partner trackI know this won’t be the last time we see the incredibly talented actress Arden Cho. She’s destined for great things and I can’t wait to see what roles she takes on next.

Archive 81

Archive 81The cancellation of just didn’t make any sense to me. How did a show that smashed the Nielsen and Netflix weekly top 10 ratings get canceled? It seemed that the mystery thriller had considerable success and most critics and viewers can only report positive things.

Unfortunately, Netflix didn’t give a reason as to why they decided against a second season, but we suspect the views weren’t high enough to meet the standards Netflix set for the series based on its budget. you deserve better Archive 81!

resident Evil

I hate to say it, but I wasn’t at all surprised when I heard about it resident Evil‘s cancellation. Personally, I enjoyed the live-action adaptation as I was unfamiliar with the games. But most people who watched the action horror were fans of the game series, and they didn’t like that the show was completely different from the games. Critics gave the series mixed reviews, while audiences ripped it to absolute shreds.

Viewership didn’t look good either. While resident Evil got off to a strong start with 72.7 million hours viewed for its opening weekend, there was not a large increase in hours viewed from week 1 to week 2, with week 2 adding 73.3 million hours. By week 3 it had dropped tremendously in viewing times and then dropped out of the top 10 by week 4. With that information, I knew the chances of an extension were slim. Also production costs for a show like resident Evil are high. Viewer ratings would have to be high enough to justify another season.

Hopefully we’ll see another adaptation of resident Evil in the future, but this time it is successful.
