Lizzo was having quite an afternoon in a recent segment for “Late Night With Seth Meyers.” In a video released Dec. 13, the singer drinks with the late-night host at the New York bar during the day valerie playing a bunch of silly games. The two laughed non-stop throughout the 17-minute segment, sipping tequila, eggnog and cocktails in between.
They begin by recording the ends of a flute before Meyers mixes various cocktails based on Lizzo’s songs and career. One of the cocktails, titled “Grrrls” after Lizzo, combines various drinks named after girls, such as Margarita, Sherry and Dr. Pepper, which the singer describes as tasting like Heinz ketchup. At one point, while making Lizzo cocktails, the two “even slapped the bag with cheap wine.”
During the segment, Lizzo and Meyers also begin a truth-or-truth game, where they answer questions honestly or sip a shot of tequila. Meyers doesn’t just play — he asks Lizzo the worst thing she’s ever done on a plane (“I have to respect his privacy, if you know what I’m saying”) if she thinks Oprah Winfrey or Beyoncé are more powerful. and who, in her opinion, is the most overrated artist in music right now. She stops immediately to avoid answering the tough questions, responding to the last one, “If I say that and I break the internet…I won’t do it.”
Elsewhere in the video, the duo can barely contain themselves as they tell each other “Nog Nog jokes,” pretending to break up with each other, and calling Meyers’ dad. In one particularly hilarious moment, as they voicemail Meyers’ father, Lizzo blurts out, “Oh, your last name really is Meyers!” Prepare for belly laughs and watch the gleeful video above in full.
