It seems the question Tom Brady‘s career is forever hanging by a thread. During the Monday November 28 episode of him Let’s go! with Tom Brady, Larry Fitzgerald and Jim Gray Podcast, the recently divorced NFL superstar, 45, joked about the current status of his contract. If cohost Jim Gray asked Tom if he would be back next year and reminded him of the “18-game part of that winning streak,” Tom hilariously joked, “That’s right, that’s right. I’m on borrowed time anyway, so.”
The father-of-three also explained that he’s currently focusing on “everyday life, game by game” as he adjusts to life after the divorce. “I love the sport, so I love preparing for it,” he said. “I love to see how we improve and get better. And I think there are definitely things that have improved on the practice field.”
The comments come after Tom’s disastrous decision to retire from the NFL in March and then waive it. His marriage to the former supermodel Gisele Bundchen, 42, later unraveled, allegedly over her disappointment that he had decided not to end his sporting career. A source told us Gisele felt “lied to” after Tom announced he was returning to the sport.
“Gisele would never want Tom to give up his dreams and his passion for her and the kids because she knows how important football is to him,” said a source close to the couple HollywoodLife EXCLUSIVELY in September. “But he promised her he was broken and she’s having a very hard time controlling her feelings about this whole ordeal. They made a deal on when he would retire and she feels lied to about that.”
The former power couple finalized their divorce in October after 13 years of marriage, saying the split was “amicable.” They share children Benjamin12 and Vivian9. Tom also shares son John15, with example Bridget Moynahan.
