In the past year, I’ve started to rely on TikTok for beauty. Whether it’s discovering the exact makeup products Hailey Bieber uses and trying to recreate her look at home, or learning about trends like “reverse hair wash,” I always count on it that the platform is teaching me something new.

Plus, scrolling down my For You page always leads me to discover tons of hacks tailored to my specific hair type, which is fine and dry. After testing virtually every single fine hair hack that came my way, I decided to round up TikTok’s favorites that actually work. Keep scrolling to learn more and see my before and after photos.

Having fine hair means I have a hard time making my bun look full once I put my hair up. After discovering this hair hack from a TikTok user Jazra Barnes Using a hair tie to make hair look fuller has changed my bun game infinitely.

To start, I pull my hair into a high ponytail and wrap the hair tie around it three times. Then I take the rest of my ponytail and wrap it around the hair tie. To finish everything off I either tuck the ends under the hair tie or I use bobby pins to secure everything in a few different places. The scrunchie makes it look like my hair is layered on top of more hair when in reality it’s all just an illusion.

I’ve recently started side parting my hair and I’ve found that I usually tuck one side of my hair behind my ear when doing this. Since my hair is so fine, this causes a few problems. I either mess with my hair and keep touching it, making it greasy and limp by the end of the day, or I try my best not to touch it at all and it ends up flat against my head. This beauty influencer hack Ashley Erickson keeps me from over-touching my hair throughout the day and it also gives me volume at the roots.

I start by taking the hair that I usually tuck behind my ear and pull it into a ponytail with a small elastic. Then I make an opening in the ponytail and flip my hair through. After getting everything tight and pinned behind my ear, I pull pieces from the top to loosen it up and add volume.

Half-Up, Half-Down Claw Clip Hack for Fine Hair

@alyssarayelee

I love this claw clip hairstyle!! Style by: @Kait Curnow 🤍 #short hairstyles #finehairtutorials #hairtutorial #easy hairstyles #hairhack #clawcliphack

I’ve been a huge fan ever since nail clips came back into fashion. They’re easy to use and always make me look better than I actually am. I’ve recently started seeing a lot of people wearing half up half down claw clip styles, but I never thought I had enough hair to wear one myself — until I found this hack by discovered by a user Alyssa Lee.

I start by dividing my hair into two sections and tying the top half into a ponytail. From there I make an opening and pull my hair through the hole creating a mini bun with a tail. Finally, I attach my claw clip over the mini bun and there you have it – a perfect half up half down hairstyle, even for fine hair.
