Could the secret to a flawless cateye be right at your fingertips? A virus tick tock hack sure thinks so! Drawing a cateye is one of the most popular makeup techniques and one that many aspiring MUAs struggle with. So this super easy trick could be the revolutionary trick you’re looking for to straighten your wings.
TikTok user Bex shared her go-to hack for Create the perfect winged look Use just a liner pen and your finger – no tedious stencils or switching between brushes and formulas. All you need is a steady hand for her technique.
“Do you have problems with eyeliner? I have the best trick,” she shares in her short video, adding that all you need is a black or brown pen. (Colors work, too!) “You’re going to place your finger on the corner of your eye, and where you feel pressure you’re going to place your pencil liner.” Bex draws a large dot of liner onto her index finger, placing it in the spot she had previously identified and gently pulls the paint into a wing. As simple as that!

If the finger point trick doesn’t work for you, don’t worry – Bex has another solution that might be faster. Instead of painting a dot on your finger, she recommends painting it on the corner of your eye instead. It doesn’t have to be perfect, but make sure you have a decent concentration of color. Then take your fingertip and push the color outwards. Voila!

Bex’s original video currently has more than five million impressions, so it’s safe to say that this hack has caught on and gained some serious momentum. Countless other TikTok users have tried (pun intended) the technique, although results vary. user @theamyna perfected her finger wing with some concealer and a brush Mirta Mueller was speechless at how well the hack worked. user Serena Kelly even called Bex’s hack a “game changer”.
Ready to try this usage tip for yourself? Make sure you wash your hands first, since your fingers are super close to your eyes, and then (literally) with just a flick of your fingertips, swish — and some liner, ofc.
