“Marinated makeup is based on the philosophy that aged makeup looks better than when you first apply it,” says Lewis. “People start putting on their makeup hours before they need it — even taking naps — to let it sit and use its natural oil production to enhance the look.” Although the style is on trend, Lewis warns that some makeup shouldn’t be left on for hours, as it could clog pores. “Aim for a makeup line that is non-comedogenic or one you can sleep in like Aisling Organics if your goal is to keep your look for as long as possible.”
