The OCU warns of harmful substances in these Chanel, Max Factor and Deliplus mascaras +2023

Once again the Organization of Consumers and Users has gotten down to work and this time it has focused on mascara. After analyzing the formulas of a selection of 14 skins of well-known brands, the OCU has discovered up to 30 substances that are harmful to health.

As is the case of cadmium and the lead which are considered heavy metals. Also prohibited substances such as nickel, which is responsible for many allergic contact dermatitis, or formaldehyde, a possible carcinogen that can also cause skin sensitization problems.

Chanel, Max Factor and Deliplus masks with traces of toxic substances

This study has been carried out with 14 mascaraAll of them with volume effect and in blackand their formulas are not waterproof (water resistant). The worst-off mascaras have been Chanel, Maxfactor and Deliplus, since traces of toxic substances have been found in their compositions. On the other hand, the OCU considers that regulations that ensure the health of users are important and that the European Commission should legislate the amounts that are considered safe and those that are not.
