Stylish swimsuits are even more common than Aperol spritzes in The White Lotus season two. The second installment in the HBO series is set in a seaside resort town in Sicily, where the characters lounge around in chic vacation attire as the suspense builds around the mysterious deaths teased in the premiere.
The swimwear envy begins in the opening scene when we meet Meghann Fahy’s Daphne wearing a yellow plunging one-piece covered in colorful starfish. Viewers are treated to a 360-degree view of the suit as she applies sunscreen, chats with fellow beachgoers and wades into the sea, where she discovers a dead body.
Daphne’s one-piece suit comes from a local Italian brand called Le Follie Shop, which was probably a deliberate move to make the show’s European setting feel more authentic. The White Lotus costume designer Alex Bovaird also chose bikinis and one-piece suits from Italian brands like Pucci and La Perla for vacationers (like Daphne’s Harper and Aubrey Plaza) and locals (like Simona Tabasco’s Lucia). In the show’s first season, Bovaird similarly sourced second-hand clothes to portray Olivia (Sydney Sweeney) and Paula (Brittany O’Grady) as best friends of Generation Z.
Now that Season 2 has come to a dramatic conclusion, let’s talk a recap of the best swimsuit moments from all seven episodes — including purchasable dupes.
