Just weeks after the release of first look photos from the upcoming third season of sand clay, PBS has unveiled a brand new teaser that begs the question: Will everyone find their happy ending in the period drama’s final season?
In the 30-second clip, Charlotte Heywood (Rose Williams) is heard saying, “We don’t get to choose who we fall in love with,” against a backdrop of dreamy classical music. If you recall, she accepted Ralph Starling’s (Cai Bridgen) proposal at the shocking end of season two, not too long after Alexander Colbourne (Ben Lloyd-Hughes) broke her heart.
And if the teaser is any indication of how he’s taking the news, it’s safe to say there’s going to be some juicy drama.
In the sneak preview, Colbourne still appears reeling from the news of the engagement as he was seen telling his brother Samuel Colbourne (Liam Garrigan): “She’s getting married soon. She’s not married yet.” So maybe they still have a chance!
As for Georgiana (Crystal Clarke), who suffered a major heartbreak last season when she found out that artist Charles Lockhart (Alexander Vlahos), who she thought was the man, was actually plotting to steal her fortune , she says: “Society can be merciless. You must do what you can to protect yourself.”
According to a press release, “Season 3 of the fan-favorite series will premiere in 2023 masterpiece on PBS, bringing viewers back to the seaside town of Sanditon to follow the romances, friendships and struggles of Charlotte, Georgiana and the Parker family.”
