The couple sat on the sidelines with three distinguished women, seen in the photo below. Seated from left to right is the Mayor of Boston Michelle Wuelected governor Maura Healey (the first female governor of Massachusetts and the first openly lesbian governor in US history), Prince William, Kate, Princess of Wales and the wife of the Celtics owner Wyc Grousebeck, Emilia Fazzalari. While there to let loose, the couple, who have been married since 2011, had some business to do to get the Celtics involved. In fact, they were excited to hear about it Curbside Care mobile unit that cares for new mothers and babies up to six weeks after delivery.
The trip is a big deal for the future King of England as it is his first trip abroad since the death of his grandmother. Queen Elizabeth the second. During his opening address at Boston City Hall earlier in the day, he paid tribute to the late Queen. “Catherine and I are delighted to be back in the United States and are very grateful to Governor Baker and the First Lady of Massachusetts for their warm welcome to Boston,” he said kindly in his speech. “On our first overseas visit since the death of my grandmother, I would like to thank the people of Massachusetts and particularly Boston for the many tributes they have paid to the late Queen. She remembered her bicentennial visit in 1976 with great fondness.”
“My grandmother was a life optimist. And me too,” he continued. “That’s why we launched the Earthshot Prize last year, with the goal of creating a truly global platform that inspires hope and urgent optimism as we seek to save the future of our planet.”
It’s unclear if William and Kate plan to meet Prince Harry and Megan Marklewho live on the opposite coast in California during their trip to America.
