Just days before the release of their Netflix documentaries, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry were honored at the Ripple of Hope Gala in New York City. On December 6, the philanthropic couple attended the event to receive the Robert F. Kennedy Ripple of Hope Award for their commitment to racial justice, human rights and social change. The Duchess of Sussex wore a bespoke off-the-shoulder white Louis Vuitton gown and, as usual, chose a classically beautiful ensemble for the occasion. The long-sleeved dress had a draped skirt and a leg slit that revealed her sleek black pointed-toe high heels.
Markle kept the rest of her accessories simple, pairing the white piece with sparkling teardrop earrings and a small black clutch. She finished the outfit with a sleek braided updo and neutral makeup. By her side, Harry also chose a clean, classy look in a sharp black suit and skinny black tie.
The Archetypes podcast host almost always dresses monochromatically, often choosing white as her head-to-toe color. Ahead of the 2022 Invictus Games in April, Markle wore a Valentino white power suit on her first visit to Europe together with Harry since she retired from royal duties. Memorably, she donned a white trench dress when introducing her son Archie to the world in June 2019.
Most recently, at a benefit for the Women’s Fund of Central Indiana on Nov. 29, Markle stunned in an emerald green cutout dress by Giorgio Armani and light purple Manolo Blahnik pumps. Her choice of color at the event probably spoke of her support for the empowerment of young women, as green, purple and white represent the suffragettes on Women’s Sunday in June 1908.
