Lizzo experimented with another unexpected hairstyle at the 2022 People’s Choice Awards. Just weeks after rocking a mullet on the cover of Vanity Fair, the “2 B Loved” singer debuted a fauxhawk while accepting the People’s Icon Award during the Dec. 6 ceremony.
Instead of shaving the sides of her head to achieve a true mohican, Lizzo’s hairstylist Shelby Swain gathered her locks on top of her head, smoothed both sides to mimic this shaved look, and secured the style with multiple gold hairpieces from the Brooklyn-based jewelry brand Alexis Bittar. The twisted metal clips matched her earrings, necklace and bracelets and matched the lustrous threads woven into her Alexander McQueen dress.
Lizzo’s hair caught attention when she took the stage twice during the show: first to accept the folk icon trophy from her mother, Shari Johnson-Jefferson, and later when she received song of the year for her hit “About Damn Time.” ”
As for the rest of Lizzo’s beauty, check out the PCAs, celebrity nail artists Eri Ishizu gave her a red ombré French manicure embellished with crystals and a makeup artist Alex Mayo — who’s been responsible for the singer’s incredible eyeshadow on tour lately — gave her a soft, glamorous look with rosy cheeks and neutral lips.
