Guards, gather! That Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 Trailer was released by Marvel at CCXP23 in São Paolo on December 1st and includes the first footage of the Guardians taking on their new enemy Adam Warlock (Will Poulter).
Star Lord (Chris Pratt), Drax (David Bautista), Groot (Vin Diesel), rocket (Bradley Cooper), Fog (Karen Gillan) and Matnis (Pom Klentieff) are all back as Guardians. Plus, Zoe Saldana returns as Gamora, although that Gamora is a younger version that has traveled to the present Avengers: Endgameafter the original Gamora was killed by Thanos. Chukwudi Iwuji, Daniela Melchiorand Maria Baklahova join the film as new characters.
James Gunn directs Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, as he did in the first two films. He was actually fired from Disney after controversial tweets resurfaced around the internet, but the whole thing Guardians of the Galaxy The cast issued a statement of support for James and Disney eventually reversed their decision. In a July 2021 interview with Weekly entertainment, James described the script for the third film as “actually quite difficult”. He added: “It’s a heavier story, so it’s an emotional process to go through. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 hits theaters on May 5, 2023.
In a recent Twitter post, James also admitted how much the series has meant to him: “I’ve spent the majority of the last 10 years of my life working on and thinking about The Guardians. I still have a long way to go with VFX & Editing, but it was still meaningful to me. It’s pretty easy to explain to others how much I love this cast and crew. It’s harder to explain how much I love these characters — seeing them as parts of myself and those I love, and filming them and writing their words is one way of expressing that love.”
