Patrick Mahomes and Brittany Matthews are over the moon to be parents for the second time after welcoming their new baby bronze in November. A source close to the couple said HollywoodLife EXCLUSIVELY that they are looking forward to spending the holidays as a family of four and that they have big Christmas plans for their new boy and daughter Sterling, 1.
The insider revealed the couple couldn’t ask for a better blessing this holiday season. “Brittany and Patrick couldn’t be happier to welcome Bronze especially just before the holidays. It’s literally the ultimate Christmas gift and they’ve taken countless holiday photos with it as a family,” they said. “They’ve already got him his own jersey and couldn’t feel more blessed this holiday season.”
As they adjust to being parents of two, the sources said the 27-year-old Kansas City Chiefs quarterback is making sure his 27-year-old wife is taken care of. “Brittany is recovering really well and Patrick has been a huge help. Despite being busy with the football season, he makes sure she and the kids are very well taken care of,” the source said.
The family friend also revealed that Patrick is very “proud” to be named AFC Offensive Player of the Month, but while it’s an “honour” it’s not quite as exciting as being a parent. “But nothing compares to being a father. It’s his greatest achievement to date and he’s overjoyed to have a son,” they said.
It’s been quite an eventful year for the couple. Before welcoming their son, the two married in March. The couple announced they welcomed their baby boy to a joint Instagram Post on November 28th. It was a shot of her son’s legs while wearing a onesie. He wore a necklace that said “Mahomes” and over it a necklace that had his nickname “Bronze” on it. The couple wrote their full names, birth weight and date in the caption. “Patrick “Bronze” Lavon Mahomes III. 11/28/22 7lbs 8oz,” they wrote.
Since Bronze was born, Patrick revealed that his younger brother Jackson, 22, played a key role in developing the new baby’s nickname, and it was inspired by his big sister’s name. “My brother Jackson would say, whenever we were trying to find something unique and different, ‘What about bronze? It’s a perfect match for Sterling,” he said meanwhile talk to reporters.
