If there’s one fragrance that’s taken this year by storm, it’s undoubtedly Palo Santo. While this ingredient has been used by indigenous cultures for centuries, its popularity on TikTok is booming, with countless users raving about the powerful and rich scent. Thanks to the fresh, woody blend of cardamom, sandalwood, cedarwood and violet that make up perfumes of this type, people were soon addicted to the scent. However, it soon became clear that paying more than $90 for a 0.5 ounce bottle of perfume or $60 for a shower gel (since most luxury brands marketed their products with Palo Santo scent) was the Blasted most people’s budgets. Luckily, TikTokers took it upon themselves to find an affordable Palo Santo scent that wouldn’t break the bank. While there were a handful of dupes that popped up, there was one that secured the spot for the best dupe of them all: The Cremo Palo Santo Reserve Collection Body Wash ($10).

What I like about the Cremo Palo Santo Reserve Collection Body Wash

Of course, I had to see if this affordable product was the real deal. Luckily, the body wash was easy to find since it’s sold at Target. When I saw the product, the first thing that struck me was how big the bottle is. (It can hold 16 fluid ounces, as opposed to luxury branded products that typically only offer 8 ounces of product.) Additionally, I also really like the bottle itself, which is defined by a sleek dark brown container that looks like it belongs in a five-star hotel shower.

After assessing the physical aspects, it was time to move on to the most important part: the smell test. With just a whiff, it was confirmed that this product is indeed the best dupe for luxury Palo Santo scented products. It has the same fresh, musky, woody, and heady scent as my expensive, TikTok-famous perfume (yes, I was convinced to buy it early on too), but for a fraction of the cost.

I rushed home to try the body wash in the shower and was as impressed with the formula as I was with the scent. The soap is very economical and can be easily lathered. Plus, a little goes a long way, so you don’t have to soak yourself in it to feel clean. After drying off, I noticed that the aroma of the shower gel smelled like I had just sprayed myself with perfume.

Ultimately, what I love most about this body wash is that the smell lingers for hours after use. In addition, the formula itself is rich and creamy and feels fantastic on the skin. It’s also made with marula oil, which provides long-lasting hydration.

What to look for in the Cremo Palo Santo Reserve Collection Body Wash?

This body wash has a very strong aroma when first applied. Since the smell is a bit more masculine, I was concerned it would be overpowering and that I’d smell like those guys in high school who put on too much Ax body spray. Luckily that wasn’t the case. The scent wore off a bit after drying and lingered on my skin for about three hours after the shower.

It’s also worth noting that Target stays in the men’s skincare department due to this product’s musky smell.

Who is the Cremo Palo Santo Reserve Collection Body Wash best for?

This body wash is ideal for anyone looking for an affordable dupe for a quality Palo Santo scented product. It smells just like the products that luxury brands sell – without the high price tag. It’s also a great soap for anyone who has dry skin as it nourishes and moisturizes from the inside out. I also think this product is perfect for people who want to improve their shower products without going overboard. The bottle itself is aesthetically pleasing and the formula is safe for all skin types.
