Camila Mendes shares her gratitude for launching her career at “Riverdale.” As the show approaches its seventh and final season, which will air next year, the 28-year-old actress recalled her days as Veronica Lodge in an interview with — and looked to the future Hunger Magazine. “It feels exciting in the sense that it’s the beginning of a new chapter,” she said.

“I can leave this experience feeling like it was a significant chapter in my life that I will never forget and I’m glad we’re ending it on such a high level,” Mendes said. In a previous interview for the November 2022 issue of porterMendes spoke about career longevity and trying to keep busy since landing”Riverdale‘ at 21. ‘I don’t work because I don’t like being idle; I keep myself busy because I’m scared for my career,” she explained. “I’ve always been in that mood. I understand that this industry is so volatile. Fame is fleeting. You can be successful, but you’re only as good as your last thing.”
Despite the stress, Mendes liked the consistency the show offered. “Riverdale makes me feel grounded and relaxed; it’s like a security blanket — it’s my safety net,” she told Porter. And though Mendes has added new projects like Do Revenge and upcoming Música to her roster, she knows leaving the show will be an adjustment. “I feel at home here,” she says. “It’s going to be weird not having that anchor anymore.”
