Things are looking a bit worrying for Al Roker as a longtime player Today’s show The weatherman was reportedly rushed back to hospital amid ongoing health concerns – just a day after missing his first Macy’s Thanksgiving Day parade in 27 years.
Roker previously alerted fans to his condition after many questioned why he was missing The Today Show for so long. In an Instagram post, Roker revealed he was being treated for a blood clot in his leg that had sent “some clots” to his lungs, but assured them he was “on the road to recovery.”
Corresponding page six Sources say Roker was taken back to the hospital by ambulance on Friday, November 25, just a day after he was discharged. A witness saw his wife abc news Journalist Deborah Roberts, who tried to break through her car window with the help of a neighbor so she could get her phone out and accompany him to the hospital.
Another witness told the outlet, “Al was brought back from his home to the hospital on a stretcher on Friday, the day after Thanksgiving. His condition was worrying, but when he got back to the hospital he improved.”
They continued, “His wife, Deborah, was understandably upset. She had left her phone and other belongings in her Tesla, which malfunctioned and wouldn’t unlock, so she tried to break a window.”
While her attempts to break into the car were unsuccessful, the outlet reports that she eventually took a taxi to the hospital, where Roker has been “surrounded by his family” since he was admitted.
News of his hospitalization comes just a week after Roker was replaced by Dylan Dreyer at the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade – his first absence in almost 30 years. It was also announced earlier today that he would miss the lighting of today’s Rockefeller Christmas tree.
Hopefully the happy weatherman will be back on our screens soon, but in the meantime we wish him a speedy recovery.
