Ready for her closeup! Hollywood’s biggest names showcased their stunning style at the Gotham Awards 2022 on Monday, November 28th.
Gabrielle Union, Michelle Williams, Julianne Moore, Lupita Nyong’o and more stars stunned at the glittering soiree celebrating the best of independent films. The event took place on Cipriani Wall Street in New York and officially commemorated the start of awards season.
The ceremony was a monumental occasion for Williams, 42, as she was honored with the Performer Tribute Award. That Blue Valentine The actress shone on the red carpet in a sequined mini dress by Valentino. The Montana native, who recently gave birth to her third child, paired the glittery dress with gold metallic platform shoes.
During her acceptance speech, the fabelmans Star poured over her Dawson’s Creek costar Mary Beth Peil — who, she said, helped advance her acting career. “Mary Beth Peil was the first artist I ever met in my life,” Williams said, adding, “[She] showed me that creativity is more than just a job. And all that vitality was miraculously directed my way. Her smiling face looked at me and she called me her girl.”
Adam Sandler was also honored with the Performer Tribute as Danielle Deadwyler won Best Lead Performance for her role as Mamie Till-Mobley in until. Everything everywhere at once scored the Best Feature nod.
Union, 50 – who was nominated for Outstanding Fringe Achievement in The inspection but lost Ke Huy Quan to the Everything everywhere at once – blinded Us in a black velvet dress by Fendi. The stunning style featured a graphic print of a Roman soldier and was finished with a turtleneck construction. That to be Mary Jane Alum complemented the getup by pulling her natural curls up into a gorgeous ‘do’ that was finished off with a metallic hair accessory. (Union made it in the hair department, and we’re still not over the braided crown she donned strange world premieres in London on November 17.)
For her part, Moore, 61, looked radiant in a figure-flattering white dress by Carolina Herrera. The design has been fitted with a plunging neckline and flared skirt. That Still Alice The actress styled the dress with multiple gold bangles and a matching necklace. She wore her hair in a glamorous but effortless bun.
Nyong’o, 39, also opted for a daring neckline. That Black Panther: Wakanda Forever The actress wowed in a long-sleeved black dress with ruched detailing at the waist.
