Pusha T praised Kanye West while acknowledging his controversies. The rapper has known Ye since 2006 and even worked with him for years after that. This January, he and Ye amicably parted ways with their record deal with Def Jam. Although the two shared a mutual respect, the Mercy singer has had a changed opinion of the hip-hop artist since his spate of social media outbursts.
Pusha T Thorn, whose real name is Terrence Thornton, has nominated his album Almost Dry for a Grammy. In the interview, the artist and family man spoke about his work, his album and his thoughts on the old and new Kanye West.

Pusha T has always appreciated Yes’s creativity. in a (n interview The Los Angeles Times asked the 45-year-old rapper about his experiences with West. The artist responded via his former creative friend by saying: “Creatively, Ye means freedom to me.” According to him, the Flashing Lights singer asked the Diet Coke singer to stay with his true creative self and not change.
“He’s always seen me for who I am and knew how to take it to the next level.” he added. He and Ye had previously worked on music such as Dreamin’ of the Past, Rock n Roll and Diet Coke. The interviewer then touched on the subject of Yes’s recent controversies.
The Mercy singer then opened up about his thoughts on the Donda singer’s anti-Semitic comments, saying: “as a black man in America there is no place for bigotry or hate speech.” He was disappointed by Ye’s statements. West was caught over his comments on the death of George Floyd and the anti-Semitic tweet, which read: “Death Fraud 3 for the Jewish People.”

Many people and companies distance themselves from Ye after his controversial opinions, not that that has stopped him from sticking to his position. Although Pusha T shares many similarities with West musically, there is one difference in their minds.
