prisoners is rated R which means it may be unsuitable for those under the age of 17. This rating was given for disturbing violent content, including torture. Strong language is also used throughout the film. You can also expect graphic violence, excessive drinking and drug use by some characters, light sexual innuendo, gory content, various weapons use and a brief depiction of suicide.
Overall, this film contains many scary and intense scenes that parents would find inappropriate for younger audiences. We strongly recommend viewing prisoners when there are no children.
