Feel festive! Princess Kate wore a red dress to court Royal Carols: Together at Christmasthe second annual carol concert sponsored by the Royal Foundation.
In a brief promo for ITV’s Christmas Eve show, the 40-year-old Princess of Wales wore a cranberry colored dress adorned with a sequined floral pattern. The dress had a high neckline and sheer long sleeves. The Duchess of Cornwall let the dress take center stage, accessorizing the look with just a pair of earrings and letting her loose tresses cascade down her shoulders.
“Join us this Christmas Eve for a very special service at Westminster Abbey, filled with festive carols and beautiful performances as we celebrate what makes this the most beautiful time of the year,” says Kate in the promo video.
According to British TV network, Kate will lead the special Christmas carol service at Westminster Abbey on Thursday December 15. Prince William will be there to support his wife who he married in 2011. King Charles III and Queen Consort Camilla will also attend the event which will pay tribute to the late Queen Elizabeth II who died in September aged 96.
“Led by The Princess of Wales and supported by The Royal Foundation, the service will recognize the selfless efforts of individuals, families and communities across the UK, celebrating and demonstrating the joy that human connection and togetherness can bring,” it said an ITV press release notes.
Royal Carols: Together at Christmas aims to include everyone, regardless of religion. “The service combines traditional and modern elements to include people of all and none faiths. Westminster Abbey’s world-renowned choir will perform some of the nation’s best-loved Christmas carols, including ‘O Come, All Ye Faithful,’ which was chosen by a public poll last week,” the network noted. The special will also feature musical performances by Craig David, Alexis Ffrench and Samantha Barks, and a duet by Alfie Boe and Melanie C.
In addition to the songs, there will be “Poignant Readings” by Prince of Wales, 40, Dame Kristin Scott Thomas, Hugh Bonneville and Kadeena Cox.
Royal Carols: Together at Christmas will feature narration by Catherine Zeta Jones, an introduction by Princess Kate and video packs highlighting individuals returning to their community. The special, which will air on ITV1 on Christmas Eve, will also include tributes to the late Queen.
Kate had several red dress looks this month. She was spotted wearing a sequined red Jenny Packham dress for the annual Diplomatic Reception at Buckingham Palace on Tuesday December 6th. The soiree takes place every year and welcomes hundreds of members of the diplomatic corps into the state rooms of the palace making it one of the rare events where a crown is appropriate. The Duchess wore sparkling teardrop earrings and the lotus flower tiara, which she last wore to a state banquet in 2015.
