The mini-reunion isn’t the only hint the film rivals have been friends off-camera for years. Back in 2018, Molly reached out to Ally via Twitter for comfort when Ally’s trans son was struggling to feel safe under the former president donald trump. “My beloved son is now seeking to legally change his name for what he puts it ‘safety’ and ‘job’ reasons,” Ally wrote via Twitter. “ASAP. We all collide with darkness. #TransRightsAreHumanRights #WontBeErased.” Molly answered, “It’s horrible. Really shocking. Love to you and Beck.” She completed the supportive message with a heart emoji, in which Ally wrote back, “Thanks my friend.”
