president Joe Bidens daughter Ashley stunned when she arrived at the State Dinner with France on Thursday 1st December. The first daughter, 41, wore a statement blue strapless dress for the black tie event, which took place at the White House on the South Lawn. She appeared ready to celebrate the momentous occasion, which marked a first for her 80-year-old father and his presidency.
Ashley was seen talking to her friend Elysia Beven in front of a door, with American and French flags on the sides. Ashley’s blue dress may have been a nod to her father’s political party or a reference to the common color of the United States and France, representing vigilance and perseverance to the United States. Ashley also accessorised with a pearl necklace. Her pal wore a gray and blue dress with a silver pattern on it.
Ashley’s mother, First Lady Jill Biden, and dad hosted the evening at the White House, where they welcomed so many stars and officials alongside the French President Emmanuel Macron and first lady Bridget Macron. Ashley’s brother Hunter Biden was also present on this special day. Joe Biden posted a video of himself with the French President and wrote about the two countries’ longstanding relationship. “Friends in times of triumph and trial, France and the United States will face the future as we have always done: undaunted by every challenge that lies ahead,” he said tweeted.
While Ashley’s parents are regularly in the public eye, she usually keeps her personal life private. She was a former social worker and owns the American-made clothing company Livelihood. Though she mostly kept to herself, aside from occasionally standing up for her father, Ashley spoke about being more outspoken and public in an interview with CNN in November. “I finally feel like I’m in a place where I really know who I am, I know my worth, I know my family – who are honestly some of the most incredible, kind and compassionate people who have given up their lives to have. really, for the service of the American people,” she said.
