Katherine Heigl Struggles to Read Teleprompter Without Glasses on ‘The Drew Barrymore Show’: ‘I Can’t See’ +2023

While they may be able to indulge in the glitz and glamor of Hollywood, even some of our favorite stars are not spared from the most mundane of issues, including poor eyesight. Actress Katherine Heigl gave a relatable interview on tonight’s episode of when she was having trouble reading from a teleprompter The Drew Barrymore Show.

That Firefly Lane Star, who joined Drew Barrymore and Ross Mathews at Drew’s News Desk, made headlines today despite warning audiences she wouldn’t be bringing her glasses. We’ve all been through this!

Squinting at the teleprompter, she slowly began to read: “diversity Reports Emily Blunt Says There’s a Role You Can Just… Live To The Full… What? To keep! And that’s… the quote… a strong female lead.”

Well, she tried her best.

The actress told the table she needed papers at her desk instead of the teleprompter, adding that she “can’t see,” and joked at her own expense that she “made it.” Barrymore replied, “I felt the need to stand up in your ear.”

The talk show host went on to describe what Heigl was trying to say, which is that Blunt feels “instantly bored” when a character description says “strong female lead.” Barrymore explained, “She knows you’re going to spend all your time acting tough and saying tough things.”

As for Heigl’s red flags for roles? Spring, life as we know it and knocked open Fans might be a little disappointed.

“I guess now, not necessarily in my 20s, but now I kind of want to avoid the uptight role of the man who has to soften her,” she admitted. “And I did a lot of it and I enjoyed it and it was fun and we had a good time, but now at 44 I’m like, ‘You’re not softening anything.'”

And indeed, she’s true to her word with her latest role as Tully Hart, a highly aspiring talk show host and Netflix journalist firefly path, which just debuted its second season today.

Of the show, Heigl says she’s “so proud of it,” adding, “I think what I love about it is the message, the story.”
