It has been over 40 years since the legendary adventurer and archaeologist Indiana Jones was first introduced to the public. The first film in the iconic franchise, Raiders of the Lost Ark, was released in 1981 and has since spawned four more films, inspired several video games, and garnered a fiercely loyal fan base.
The upcoming movie, titled Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny, wrapped production in February and will feature a star-studded cast that will of course include Harrison Ford, but it could be his last (more on that later). . The first trailer, released December 1, sees the intrepid title character embark on a series of increasingly dramatic, high-speed chases, occasionally joined by Phoebe-Waller Bridge, who plays Helena, Indy’s goddaughter.
While it’s unimaginable to imagine the franchise without Ford, rumors circulated in 2019 that Jurassic World actor Chris Pratt would replace Ford in an Indiana Jones film reboot. In a July episode of “Happy sad confused‘ Pratt jokingly said he didn’t want to replace the veteran actor, and for an amusing reason. “All I know is that I once saw a quote from Harrison Ford, and I don’t even know if it really was him, but it was enough to scare me, it was like, ‘If I die, Indiana Jones dies.’ And I wonder if one day I’ll be haunted by the ghost of Harrison Ford if he dies while I’m playing. . . ‘ Pratt said.
