The holidays are in full swing and Dollywood has a special treat for us this Christmas. NBC recently announced the newest guest stars in Dolly Parton’s upcoming holiday movie, Dolly Parton’s Mountain Magic Christmas, including Miley Cyrus, the country legend’s goddaughter. The network also cast Billy Ray Cyrus, Jimmy Fallon, Willie Nelson, Jimmie Allen and Zach Williams as additional guests, with Tom Everett Scott, Ana Gasteyer and Angel Parker set to star alongside Parton.

The Christmas Special is a full movie musical centered around Parton’s desire to spread Dollywood’s ‘mountain magic’ this holiday season, and the storyline is reportedly full of heartwarming Christmas themes. According to an NBC press release, the film opens when “Three Wise Mountain Men” appear to Parton to take her on a journey through her past and help her find new inspiration in the magic of Christmas.

When Parton finally returns to the present to film her big special, she shares what she’s learned and realizes that Christmas is really about faith, heart and the people we surround ourselves with. Having real family members like Miley Cyrus as part of the film is sure to make that point even clearer, especially since Cyrus has often spoken out about the close bond she shares with Parton.

“It’s a lot of drama. It’s a lot of comedy, a lot of meaningful songs, a lot of meaningful places,” Parton said of the special during her Dec. 1 performance the show “Today”..
