To say that Netflix has done an excellent job on shows would be a criminal understatement. The OTT mogul has completely reformed what you expect from a show and how it’s designed. While there’s no denying that Netflix’s documentaries and shows are top notch, we also have to accept that its feature films are average at best. Most of the streaming giant’s movies seem to fall flat after, if they’re lucky, a week of buzz. But the strip from 2018 bird feeder, was an eye opener (pun intended) in so many ways.
Not only did it give new meaning to common words like “girl” and “boy,” it also became the most watched Netflix film. Not only did audiences get a movie they’d compel everyone they know to watch just to see their reactions, but the following memes also gave the movie a good spot in the pop culture department.
Is Bird Box still relevant?
The Sandra Bullock movie, when it was released in 2018, really blew the box. Susanne Bier directed it After the wedding and the screenplay by Oscar winner Eric Heisserer, the strip was more than captivating. It is based on the novel by Josel Malerman. Judging from social media, the audience was deeply impressed after watching the post-apocalyptic thriller film. And soon, rumors began circulating that the streaming giant would be releasing a series and even a sequel.
I took off my blindfold this morning and discovered that 45,037,125 Netflix accounts have already watched Bird Box – the best first 7 days for a Netflix movie ever! pic.twitter.com/uorU3cSzHR

But given the fact that there hasn’t been any news over the years, the odds aren’t there. While the film worked wonders for Netflix, it didn’t even come close to being “evergreen” like most of the streamer’s films do. And the rewatch factor was pretty much nonexistent, too.

After memers on social media ran out of ideas to make more of the film, the hype surrounding it quickly died down. A score of 64% on Rotten Tomatoes isn’t something a top-tier streaming and production service likes Netflix want to boast.
Well deserved. It was a big mystery, action, adventure, drama. And Sandra Bullock is AMAZING! #BirdBox pic.twitter.com/3DuthaFDqG

Given the rapid rise and fall of bird boxes Popularity, there are many who have claimed that the film actually wasn’t that great and it was just beginner’s luck. However, there are many who would agree birdhouse with its incredible new concept was one of the best thrillers of the last decade. The film has a lot of potential to be made into a series.
