He continued, “You make a certain type of film and you sign deals that commit you to those roles for a certain amount of time and people see you in a certain light that you have to fight your way out of. It’s 100 percent that way with actors – and it definitely was that way for me.”
James portrayed his character in three films opposite Shailene Woodley and won four Teen Choice Awards over the two years, including one for his big makeout with Woodley. The film franchise had an ardent fan base as it was based on a best-selling novel series but eventually fizzled out with its third installment. allegiance.
