‘Woman Woman 3’ Canceled by New DC Boss James Gunn After ‘Wonder Woman 1984’ Was Disappointing: Report +2023

Wonder Woman’s journey draws to a close. It has been reported that DC Studios has started the third installment of Patty Jenkins’ wonder woman film franchise.

This was announced yesterday (Dec. 7). wonder woman 3 will not advance and is now considered “dead” according to sources. The Hollywood Reporter. How it supposedly went is pretty scandalous.

In October, filmmaker James Gunn and producer Peter Safran were named co-chairs and CEOs of Warner Bros. DC Studios, much to the delight of fans. The two together bring a wealth of experience across all genres, but most notably in the superhero category, with works including Guardians of the Galaxy, The Suicide Squad, Aquaman and the HBO Max series peacemaker.

THR reported that Jenkins submitted her cinematic treatment (which is a storyline breakdown often completed before the script was written) but was not met with a warm reception. Gunn and Safran, along with their co-chairs and co-CEOs Michael De Luca and Pamela Abdy, reportedly told her that “the project — as it was — didn’t fit with the new (but still evolving) plans.”

THR suspects that the film’s price didn’t play a role in the decision-making process, although Gal Gadot, who plays the role of the legendary heroine, and Jenkins wanted to earn $20 million and $12 million, respectively, for their work.

This news came as a shock to fans, as Gadot tweeted her excitement for the “next story” in the franchise the day before.

“A few years ago it was announced that I would be playing Wonder Woman. I was so grateful for the opportunity to play such an incredible, iconic character, and more than anything, I’m grateful for YOU. The fans. I can’t wait to share her next chapter with you,” she wrote on Dec. 6.

The termination comes after that Mrs. Mrs. 1984 underperformed at the box office on its release on December 25, 2020, Grossed $169.6 million with a budget of $200 million. Many acknowledge that his theatrical performance was in part due to the prevailing COVID-19 pandemic, which has shrunk traditional movie-going crowds. The delayed release date and simultaneous release on HBO Max probably didn’t help either.

However, the film also drew mixed reviews from critics and viewers, who were underwhelmed by the character development, overall plot, and technical aspects.

The film’s tragic fate isn’t the only shocking news to be revealed by THR. That’s what they said too Black Adam 2 is unlikely and man of steel 2 – who saw Henry Cavill’s retaliation from Superman – and aquaman 3 are threatened with closure. Gunn and Safran will present their ideas to David Zaslav, CEO of Warner Bros. Discovery next week to outline their plans for the future of the studio.

But no worry, The Lightning is still safe (eye roll).
