Firefly Lane Season 2 Part 1 is now available to stream on Netflix. This season introduces us to several new characters. One of those characters is called Danny (Ignacio Serricchio), and once we meet him it’s obvious that he and Tully (Katherine Heigl) have sizzling chemistry. But do they end up together?
Last season, Tully had a younger love named Max Brody (Jon Ecker). Max was a paramedic who really liked Tully, but Tully wasn’t ready for a committed relationship at first. Tully slowly comes up with the idea of starting a relationship with Max, but they don’t really start dating until she becomes pregnant.
They even get married, but when they return from their last-minute wedding, things take a turn for the worse and Tully discovers she’s had a miscarriage. As she processes the loss of her baby, she tells Max that she doesn’t want to be with him anymore. But after being completely mourned, Tully tries to get back together with Max, but he doesn’t feel the same.
As expected, Max doesn’t show up Firefly Lane Season 2 Part 1 since he and Tully broke up. But Tully has had her fair share of love interests, and Danny re-enters her life at one of the most difficult times of her life. Her relationship with Danny isn’t all rainbows and butterflies, however. There are some bumps in the road, but do those bumps prevent them from coming together?

Will Tully and Danny get together in Firefly Lane Season 2 Part 1?
Unfortunately, Tully and Danny don’t end up together. We first meet Danny in the 1985 timeline where Tully and Kate are working at KPOC. While trying to cover a story, Tully meets Danny, who works for a competing news network. We quickly learn that they have a story. One night they were at a bar flirting, but Danny took another woman home instead of Tully. That’s why they have a bad relationship.
Later, Tully and Danny sleep together for the first time after a press conference for Benedict Binswanger. But Danny takes a page from Tully’s book and tells her he’s not looking for anything serious. That’s when we realize that Tully and Danny are more alike than we thought. Danny is then offered a position at KPOC and begins working with Tully. Let the sexual tension and flirting continue!
After sleeping together for the second time, they finally get together, but their honeymoon phase doesn’t last long. After a weekend anchor spot opens up at KPOC, Tully and Danny jump at it. When Tully later sees Danny talking to her boss, she immediately believes the position has gone to him. But she finds out that Danny withdrew from the application, which meant she got the job. Tully decides to confront Danny, and Danny tells her that he left the job because he received a job offer from a new cable sports network in New York. Not believing long distance would work, they decide to break up.
They do not meet again until 2004, when Danny moves into the penthouse across from Tully. Danny tells Tully that his contract with ESPN ended, so he moved back to Seattle to start a sports media company. It’s obvious they still have feelings for each other, but what Danny finally tells Tully puts an end to any possible romantic relationship. As he catches up, Danny drops the bombshell that he has a girlfriend.
Although Danny has a girlfriend, he and Tully remain friends. They share several intimate moments throughout the rest of the season. Still, they both know they can’t be in a relationship, especially when Tully gets a new job offer somewhere far from Seattle.
Danny tells Tully about a job on a global warming documentary, but it requires her to isolate herself in a remote facility in Antarctica for several months. She accepts the job offer and begins packing to leave. Danny tells Tully to have a nice trip and that he will be thinking of her. In the final scene of Part 1, Tully is shown taking the elevator down her penthouse to leave and look for a new job.
Will Tully and Danny get back together in Season 2 Part 2 of Firefly Lane?
It’s unknown, but it’s definitely possible! First, we still don’t know if Tully is actually going to Antarctica. We only see her going down the elevator. Maybe she changed her mind at the last minute. Perhaps Tully will decide to stay in Seattle once she learns of Kate’s health diagnosis. I’m sorry Celeste. If Tully stays, I’m pretty sure Danny will kick Celeste to the curb.
Let’s say Tully ends up going to Antarctica after all. I very much doubt she will stay the whole time after finding out Kate has breast cancer. Regardless of whether they hit it off, Tully wasn’t going to let Kate go through this alone. Do you read them Firefly Lane book, do you know what happens in this part of the story? I suspect Tully will fly home to take care of Kate and I bet Danny will somehow return to Tully’s life. However, there is also a possibility that Tully may choose not to get back together with Danny. Maybe she realizes that she needs to spend time alone before she can get back into a relationship. I guess we’ll find out Firefly Lane Season 2 part 2.
