Where is the truth on Netflix? +2023

One of the latest documentaries that’s garnering attention – and not for the right reasons – just released Tuesday, November 29th. Whether you’re interested in watching the three-episode series or just shocked that it’s been made and want to learn more, we’re here to talk about it Casey Anthony: Where the Truth Lies and where to stream it now.

If you’re unfamiliar with the case, Anthony was charged with the first-degree murder of her two-year-old daughter, Caylee, in 2008 and she pleaded not guilty. Although it was widely believed that the Orlando, Florida, single mother murdered her child, her defense argued that Caylee accidentally drowned and her body was disposed of by Anthony’s father, George.

The nation was outraged when Anthony was found not guilty and instead charged with a number of misdemeanors. She has been released from prison since 2011 and has now posed in front of the camera for the first time for the docuseries Casey Anthony: Where the Truth Lies.

The docuseries get a lot of backlash, as you might expect, but perhaps the creators simply believe that all press is good press.

Where can I watch the Casey Anthony documentary?

If you are interested in watching the three episode series, Casey Anthony: Where the Truth Lies is not currently streaming on Netflix. It’s a Peacock Original, meaning it’s exclusively streamed on that platform. It will most likely never be added to Netflix.

At the time of writing, the Peacock documentaries have an audience rating of 42% Rotten tomatoes, and the general consensus is that the project is in bad taste. Legal commentator Nancy Grace recently criticized the series when interviewed by The Hollywood ReporterShe said, “I don’t call this a documentary.” Grace detailed Casey’s trial on her HLN show at the time, and was actually asked to star in the Peacock series. She explained:

I immediately declined. I declined participation in Peacock’s so-called “documentary” because I felt it would condone her lies and somehow condone the murder of this little girl. We are all – what? – stand by and listen to her pack of lies like that’s kinda okay? Like she deserves hair and makeup and a spot in front of the camera in the spotlight to tell her the so-called truth? There is only one truth, and your truth is not.
