Let the wedding bells ring – the wedding season is in full swing. And what do brides think about more than the perfect wedding make-up? Possibly the decoration, her outfit or the hairstyle – but we have to start somewhere, don’t we? Make-up artist Nikki Wolff shows the perfect look on her Instagram account. We promise you will love it!

Nikki works as a makeup artist all over the world and has almost 900,000 followers on Instagram – and everyone loves her looks. In her Instagram story, she often shows looks that she puts on her clients. And this special wedding make-up caught our eye. And by the way: The look is not only suitable for brides, wedding guests can also wear it very well. Or you wear it at the weekend or on vacation.

This is how the perfect wedding make-up works

1. Preparation is key! Before applying makeup, the skin must be cleansed. This is what Nikki does with the Rodial Dragon’s Blood Cleansing Water. Afterwards, Nikki uses the Rose Day Cream from Dr. Hauschka – a rich day care for dry and sensitive skin. This is massaged into the skin. Her advice: “Take your time to rub the product in.” If you have oily or combination skin, you should switch to a different care product, otherwise the skin will become greasy too quickly. This is followed by lip care, here she uses the Total Lip Treatment from Sensai Beauty. The product can then act while she applies the rest of the make-up
2. Let’s continue with the complexion: Nikki now applies Becca’s Skin Love Primer with a flat foundation brush. It refines the pores and provides moisture at the same time. She then uses the same brush to apply Becca’s Weightless Blur Foundation. The medium to high opacity evens out imperfections and still lets the skin shine. Important: Do not use too much product here, otherwise the skin can quickly look “pasted up”.
3. Let’s get to the most important part – the eye make-up. As a base, Nikki uses the MAC Paint Pot in the color “Groundwork” and gently applies it over the entire lid with an eye shadow brush. “The color is so versatile, you can wear it as a base or as a standalone eyeshadow for everyday use,” she explains. Then she uses the MAC Eye Kohl in the color “Costa Rich” – a warm brown – to fill in the crease and the outer corner.
4. With the base brush, she blends out the color very softly and then pulls the color slightly outwards, creating a light cat eye with a smoky effect. After that, she takes a brown eyeshadow (slightly darker than the kohl pencil) and presses it into the outer corner to create some depth. She also applies the color to the lower lash line. Then she picks up a light peach tone with a fluffy brush and uses it to blend out the edges. Here she uses Anastasia Beverly Hills Orange Soda. Finally, she presses the rest of the brown eyeshadow on the brush into the inner corners again to create a minimal shadow. Sounds unusual at first, but the effect is amazing!
5. Then comes a black eyeliner and with the eyeshadow “Expensive Pink” from MAC she brings warmth and shimmer to the lid again, she simply presses the color onto the movable lid. To make the look really special, Nikki adds individual eyelashes – but of course this is not a must. And then another layer of mascara follows. We just say: Fluffy Lashes!!! To visually open up the eyes, Nikki applies a beige eyeliner pencil to the lower waterline. This makes the eyes look really big.
6. And because the skin isn’t finished yet, she’s going to continue. The reason she puts foundation first, then eyes, and then concealer is because the concealer works as a kind of eraser. If eye shadow falls off, you can erase it super easily with the concealer. Here she uses the Armani Power Fabric Concealer. And the same applies here: less is more.
7. For setting, she uses the Urban Decay All Nighter Waterproof Setting Powder with a small eyeshadow brush. “We don’t want to overload the skin with powder,” explains Nikki. She applies the powder wherever she doesn’t want the skin to shine: under the eyes, on the nose, around the chin and on the forehead.
8. This is followed by bronzer and blush: First she takes the Elizabeth Arden FourEver Bronzing Powder and applies it below the cheekbones and on the chin line. Some product is also applied to the temples. For a fresh complexion, she uses the bareMinerals Gen Nude Powder Blush in “Pretty in Pink” and applies it relatively far forward on the cheeks. This gives a really fresh look. Then fix the blush and bronzer with the Becca Skin Love Glow Shield Prime & Set Mist.
9. And what is missing now? Right, the eyebrows! Here she uses eyebrow soap and combs it into shape. She fills in small gaps with the Dip Brow Pomade by Anastasia Beverly Hills and paints small hairs with it. Super natural!
10. Finally come the highlights. With the Shimmering Skin Perfector in the color “Opal” from Becca, she sets a highlight in the inner corner of the eye and on the heart of the lips. With a slightly larger brush, she also applies the highlighter to the cheekbones. Her tip: Applying the product not too high and not too close to the eye makes it much more flattering on the face.
11. Last, but not least: lips. Here, Nikki chooses the MAC lip liner in the color “Strip Down” and the KKW Beauty lipstick in the shade “1.5” – a peach-colored nude tone.

Wow – that’s definitely a lot. But the result looks amazing. And honestly, on the wedding day you plan a little time anyway, right? And even if you’re not getting married, the make-up artist still has a few good tricks up her sleeve. We can see a lot more from there…
