birth mom Angela Johnson said TMZ that she has been struggling to get her daughter back for years, but things are progressing slowly. Angela had Chloe with Chrisley’s son kyle back in 2012 but lost custody in 2016 due to drug issues. Later that year, Angela was arrested for allegedly making a false application for Medicaid assistance, leaving Grandpa Todd sole custody.

Things get even more complicated where everyone lives. The Chrisleys have relocated to Tennessee from where they adopted Chloe in Georgia, and Angela lives in South Carolina, making it unclear which state even has oversight of the case.

Angela’s work to win back Chloe comes after Chrisley’s daughter savannah25, stated their intention to take care of chloe and brother Grayson16. She revealed the news during an emotional episode of hers Unlocked podcast inducted before her parents’ sentencing but released thereafter on November 21, 2022.

Julie previously explained how she gave Chloe as much help as possible during this difficult time for the family. She revealed that she got “the help of therapists” on another episode Unlocked. In the episode, Savannah also mentioned that Chloe “has had a psychologist since she was a child” because her parents “wanted to stay current about her mental health and what’s in her best interest.”

Todd and Julie were convicted in court on Monday November 21, approximately 5 months after being charged with tax fraud USA network Stars were found guilty on all charges in June. Todd was sentenced to 12 years in prison while Julie, 49, was sentenced to 7 years in prison TMZ. In addition, both were given a 16-month probationary period.
