With This is us Actor Justin Hartley, the candid film follows the protagonist Jake, a famous and successful author who returns to his hometown after learning that his mother has died. While there, he finds more than he expected and begins to look deeper into his past.

Jake meets a woman named Rachel who is looking for answers about her past, and when they discover a journal at his mother’s estate, they realize they are more connected than they realized and must work together to uncover the truth.
