We’re only 2 episodes into the inaugural season of southern charm spin off, Southern hospitality, and the drama is in full swing. Bravo’s latest hit series follows the lives of the staff at Leva Bonaparte’s Republic Garden & Lounge as they work hard and play even harder in the city of Charleston. While the crew is made up of party girls (and boys!), ambitious go-getters, and happy Gen Z folks, one of the show’s earliest breakout stars is self-proclaimed “model, fashionista, wanderer” Grace Lilly. So it’s no wonder that one of the most dramatic scenes in the series is taking place with her Alice in Wonderland theme birthday!
We dive right into the middle of a quote guessing game in this exclusive clip from Monday’s (December 12) episode. “You don’t deserve to work at Republic,” VIP host Joe Bradley reads aloud from a note. “Who said that, TJ?” asks current bar back Mikel Simmons, who is struggling to earn his place at Republic after being demoted for promoting a rival bar. “Sounds like a thirsty bitch quote,” Simmons concludes. Bartender TJ Dinch, who has previously been open about his disdain for Simmons’ attitude and his less-than-professional demeanor, admits to saying it but not writing it down.
When Bradley tries to change the subject, Simmons screams in frustration, “You’re all so wrong! You guys like to talk behind that locked door.” Annoyed by the outburst, Dinch turns to VIP server Mia Alari and asks, “Isn’t that great?” Simmons directs his anger at Dinch, yelling, “You gotta get my name out of your goddamn mouth Hold it!” As the scene switches to Simmons’ confessional, he says to the camera, “I’m threatening TJ a lot, and he should be, but if you’re being spiteful and hateful for no reason, I’ll say, ‘Fuck you.’ ”
The group tries to calm Simmons down, but the effort is in vain. “You’re a thirsty bitch and you keep talking about me, so shut up,” Simmons says angrily. As he is about to leave, he picks up his champagne flute and pours the rest of his drink onto a shocked Dinch. “I’ve never had a birthday like this,” Lilly says to herself.
