Merry Christmas to everyone! Christmas music comes in all sorts of sounds. Whether sweet and festive mood music or festive Christmas hymns, there is something for all moods and Christmas celebrations! With last-minute Christmas gift wrapping, there’s nothing better than getting dressed to get the holiday cheer going Mariah Carey‘s Merry Christmas album or a holiday playlist to get ready for some holiday fun.
Some of music’s biggest names have lent their voices to tracks that have become holiday favorites and Christmas classics. Taylor Swift, Demi Lovato, Katy Perry, John Legend, Toni Braxton, Destiny’s Child, and The Jonas brothers are only one little Your darlings, who celebrated “the most beautiful time of the year” singing. Mariah Carey, “All I Want For Christmas Is You”
A must-have for any holiday pop playlist, Mariah Carey’s modern classic remains a popular staple throughout the holiday season. It also continues to top the charts as December rolls around (in fact, it’s been #2 on the Billboard Hot 100 since December 8). In 2020, Mariah teamed up with Ariana Grande and Jennifer Hudson for an updated version of her 2010 hit “Oh Santa!” so there’s plenty of Mariah for your playlists this Christmas.
Taylor Swift, “Christmas Tree Farm”
Any die-hard swiftie will tell you how Taylor Swift lived on a Christmas tree farm her father owned from the ages of five to 10. The same Swifties will also pick Taylor’s 2019 song “Christmas Tree Farm” as their favorite tune of the year. Some may choose their version of whams “Last Christmas” from her 2007 episode, The Taylor Swift Christmas Collection.
Ariana Grande, “Santa Tell Me”
Want more Ariana Grande for your vacation? The music star has released plenty of Christmas music including her 2015 EP, Christmas & Chill. It is actually their second holiday EP after 2013 christmas kisses. Between these two lies “Santa Tell Me” like that special present hidden under the Christmas tree at the back.
Katy Perry, “Cozy Little Christmas”
In view of katy Perry’s Love for crazy outfits, parties and all things camping, it makes sense that she would have a very Katy carol. The singer released “Cozy Little Christmas” in 2018 and followed it up with a music video (which featured reindeer massages) in 2019.
Justin Bieber, “Mistletoe”
For many dedicated Beliebers, there is nothing they wish they had more than to meet Justin Bieber under the mistletoe.” In 2011, the Canadian superstar released Under the mistletoe, his second studio album and first collection of Christmas carols. Since then he has married Hailey Baldwinso expect she snogging under the mistletoe this Christmas.
John Legend ft. Stevie Wonder, “What Christmas Means to Me”
Stevie Wonder covered “What Christmas Means To Me” on his 1967 album, Sometime for Christmas. So, when John Legend came out A legendary Christmas In 2018, he challenged the music icon to join him and do the song justice. It’s like Stevie is his secret Santa.
Jonas Brothers, “Like It’s Christmas”
The Jonas Brothers – Nick Jonas, joe jones, and Kevin Jonas – are no strangers to Christmas music. A young “Nicholas” Jonas released “Joy To The World (A Christmas Prayer)” in 2003, and the JoBros released “Girl Of My Dreams” in 2007, a holiday-themed love song. Fast forward to 2019 and the brothers – all grown and married – decided to give their fans a song about how each day “Like It’s Christmas” feels when you’re in love.
Gwen Stefani with Blake Shelton, “You Make It Feel Like Christmas”
Since starting a romance in 2015, Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton were partners in love and music. So it made perfect sense that Blake would appear on Gwen’s 2017 holiday album, They dress up like Christmas. In fact, Gwen and Blake duet on the album’s title track and put the PDA in the official music video.
Dolly Parton ft. Miley Cyrus, “It’s Christmas”
Surprisingly, it lasted until 2020 Dolly Parton release an album called A Holly Dolly Christmas. It wasn’t her first holiday album – she and Kenny Rogers released Kenny & Dolly: Once upon a Christmas 1984, and she laid out home for christmas 1990 – but holly dolly is the only Christmas album of hers that features her godchild, Miley Cyrus.
Shawn Mendes & Camila Cabello, “The Christmas Carol”
There have been some incredible Christmas duets in the past: Bing Crosby and David bowies iconic version of “Little Drummer Boy”; Tegan and Sara “Make mine this season”; even Will Ferrell and zooey Deschanels Shower version of “Baby, It’s Cold Outside” in Eleven counts. So when the time came her christmas duet, Shawn Mendes and Camila cabello have teamed up for “The Christmas Song”. While their romance is over, their love for each other is captured on this track.
Kelly Clarson ft. Reba McEntire & Trisha Yearwood, “Silent Night”
There is plenty of choice for Wrapped in red, Kelly Clarksons Christmas album 2013 that would make your playlist all “merry and merry”. Considering her collaborations with country superstars Reba McEntire and trisha yearwood, for starters when their three voices soar in “Silent Night”.
Destiny’s Child, “Are You Hearing What I Hear?”
It might have been red nosed if Destiny’s Child had named their 2001 Christmas album We Three Queens. Instead they went with me 8 days of Christmasand it’s full of songs that would make a great addition to any playlist, including her version of “Do You Hear What I Hear?”.
Toni Braxton, “The Christmas Season Is Here”
Toni Braxton gifted the world snowflakes 2001, a collection of Christmas classics such as Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas, This Time Next Year, and her collaborations with shaggy, “Christmas in Jamaica”. One of the gems on this album is their version of “Christmastime Is Here”. Vince Guaraldi famous song A Charlie Brown Christmas.
Jimmy Eat World, “Last Christmas”
GeorgeMichael and Andrew Ridgeley carved themselves into the Christmas Music Hall of Fame in 1984 as a musical duo phew, they released “Last Christmas”. Since then, the track has been covered by many acts including Hilary Duff, Ashley Tisdale, Ariana Grande and Carly Rae Jepsen. Jimmy food world released their version of the song in 2001 and it has become a staple on their set list whenever the holiday season is over.
Lizzo, “I Never Felt Like Christmas”
Lizzo has a carol, everyone! She released Never Felt Like Christmas in 2015, and it’s perfect for those who never got into the Christmas spirit — until they unwrapped the gift that is love. “I’ve never seen a miracle on 50-something Street,” she sings. “But now I’m singing, bells ringing, everything’s new / I’m fa-la-la-la-la-ling in love with you, ooh ooh oh you / All the years I’ve been let down ’til you came around / It felt never feels like Christmas.”
Demi Lovato, “A Merry Christmas”
In spite of anthony fantano, a.k.a. “The Internet’s Busiest Music Nerd”, despise itmany people love Paul McCartney’s “Wonderful Christmas time.” And how Demi Lovato, many pop stars have chosen to cover it. Demi’s version was part of the 2008 Hollywood Records Comp, Everything packed.
Britney Spears, “My One Wish (This Year”)
Britney Spears She tried to be the Queen of Christmas with the release of “My Only Wish (This Year)”, one of the songs of the 2000s Platinum Christmas. The compilation was also presented Monica, Christina Aguilera, Dido, Backstreet Boys, TLC, and Whitney Houston. While “My Only Wish” failed to dethrone “All I Want For Christmas Is You” as the big pop song of the season, it remains a fan favorite and deserves a remake this year.
Mary J. Blige, “My One Wish (This Year)”
Even Mary J Blige entered the holiday campaign through the release A Maria Christmas in 2013. The album featured performances by Jessie J, Marc Anthony, and even Barbra Streisand. However, one of the best moments on the album is her version of Donny Hathaways “This Christmas”, a song by this singer-songwriter Ben rector described as “upbeat, “jazzy” and “funky”. Mary’s version of the song is all that – and more.
NSYNC, “Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays”
A little boy band love never hurt Christmas, right? NSYNC issue home for christmas 1998, a seasonal album full of Christmas classics and a handful of Christmas originals. One of those songs was the single “Merry Christmas (Happy Holidays)” which was later covered by groups like Pentatonix her christmas album 2016, A Pentatonix Christmas.
Sabrina Claudio ft. The Weeknd, “Christmas Blues”
Sabrina Claudio Christmas blues got a special present when she got the weekend appear on the title track. It’s also a perfect song for when you want to turn off the lights and spend the rest of the evening staring at a fireplace with your special someone.
