Good morning America Presenter Robin Roberts, who works with TJ Holmes and Amy Robach, is “furious” over the affair, which she has described as “messy” and “brand-damaging”.
Corresponding DailyMail.comRoberts has taken her concerns to the fore, complaining to ABC’s parent company Disney about the network’s lackluster response to the scandal.
Roberts says she told Holmes and Robach to “get the fuck out” when she got wind of the affair a while back.
The network is now weighing how to respond, and sources say one option could spark a racist firestorm, despite Holmes’ record as an alleged “serial scammer.”
“Let the black man go and keep the white woman? It looks like the worst kind of double standard,” the source said.
Holmes and Robach were taken off the air last Friday and have not been seen together since, despite early claims that they were “openly dating” and determined to “grow their relationship”.
Robach has split from her husband of 12 years, actor Andrew Shue, and Holmes has been kicked out by his wife, lawyer Marilee Fiebig, to whom he was also married for 12 years.
By the looks of it, the network appears to be deadlocked, with insiders telling DailyMail.com that staff have been confused and groping in the dark since news president Kim Godwin made the decision to remove Holmes and Robach from the air.
An insider says Godwin is “busy making sure her best interests are covered and seems totally in no position to make a decision.” She is completely unavailable and mostly hiding in her office.”
